History of Trinity

God has richly blessed Trinity for many years.

Below is a sampling of past events:

1922 – Land at County Roads 46 and 5 in Lakeville is donated by Mr. and Mrs. Arie Streefland for the purpose of building a church

1946 – Mrs. Sadie Sneller worked to secure the land for the Victorious Life Sunday School

1947 – The church organized as a Presbyterian church

1950 – Orchard Gardens Presbyterian Church becomes Orchard Gardens Evangelical Free Church

1968 – Church members vote to change the name of Orchard Gardens Evangelical Free Church to Trinity Evangelical Free Church

1970 – Trinity’s members vote in faith to keep the doors open

1983 – Church purchased an additional 3 acres to build a parsonage

1985 – Pastor Don Reigstad called as Senior Pastor

1991 – Groundbreaking on the sanctuary addition at Kenwood Trail location

2001 – Trinity purchased 38 acres in south Lakeville for a new church

2002 – Trinity agreed to swap 38 acres with Lakeville South High School for 39 acres and closer freeway access

2003 – Loan for the land is paid in full

2004 – Church mortgage is paid in full

2005 – Trinity’s building committee planned for a new 50,000 square foot facility

2006 – Church at Kenwood Trail is sold to Evergreen Community Church

2006 – July groundbreaking on new property

2007 – First worship service at 210th Street on August 5

2009 – New ministry thrust begins: “Trinity: Inside Out”
