Errant hikers Josh Fattal and Shane Bauer are free! After two years in an Iranian prison, held on charges of spying, were finally released on September 21. Landing in the Gulf state of Oman, they literally ran down the ramp of the private jet, and into the arms of their family, including Bauer’s fiancée, Sarah Shourd, arrested with Bauer and Fattal but released a year ago. The celebration will no doubt continue for months!
The trio, hiking in Iraq, asserts that they had no intention of crossing the border into Iran and causing an international crisis. They simply made a mistake – a near fatal mistake. That’s how most people get into trouble with Ayatollah Satan. They have no plan to walk into his kingdom, but, frankly, the boundary lines were hard to make out in that part of the world. “Be careful then, how you walk…” (Paul, Ephesians 5:15)
