Communion Preparation
We have four teams (four areas of responsibility):
- Team One: sets up all the communion service items (filling juice and bread trays and setting up the altar), usually sometime Saturday. Takes about an hour.
- Team Two: receives the juice and bread trays after distribution during the first service and refills them for the second service. Usually takes most of the service time after communion. This team attends the second service. Team Two and Three work together between services to re-set the altar tables.
- Team Three: receives the juice and bread trays after distribution during the second service and prepares them for the next month's communion service (stores leftovers and fills juice trays with empty cups). Usually takes the balance of service time after communion. This team attends the first service.
- Team Four: clears the altar tables and finishes putting away the communion service pieces. Usually takes about 30 minutes.
Teams are generally two people. We try to be flexible and help out with whatever needs to be done to allow for people's changing schedules on the weekends.
Please contact Frank and Lynette Simmons if you are interested in helping or would like more information.
