Journeyland

Children are on a journey of faith, with heaven as their destination, the Bible as their guidebook and Jesus as their personal guide. At Trinity, we believe that for this to happen Children's Ministries must partner with the primary faith discipler - the parent. As we help to equip, encourage and engage the parent in this adventure, these children will come to have a saving knowledge and personal relationship with Jesus Christ and will know how to live for Him. In short, we are partnering with parents to help their children come to know, love and follow Jesus Christ.

To help the parent guide their child on this journey, Trinity provides many types of resources:

  • Sunday education classes by age/grade level to help students develop an understanding of God's plan of redemption and His purpose for those who follow Him
  • Wednesday club programs to help students learn to practically apply God's Word to their lives, to provide opportunities to build friendships and to help them live their faith "inside out" by inviting friends to come along
  • Opportunities for worship and praise through music in both Sunday and Wednesday programs
  • Hands-on experiences of serving for both the child and the family - both in the church and in the world
  • Family events for fun, spiritual growth and reaching out to friends
  • Counseling resources and referrals for families in crisis
  • Family and parenting classes on important topics to create shared experiences in spiritual growth that also equip parents to be able to carry on discipleship later in the home

Read through the pages to get an overview of Children's Ministries. If you have any questions, please contact Julie Andersen, Director of Children's Ministries (952-469-6235).

We're glad your child is on this journey with us!

Education

Sunday School:

  • Ages 3 - 6th grade (Age 3 by 9/1)
  • Students can enroll in a full hour of education at 9:00 or 10:30.
  • Adult classes - Adult Bible Fellowships (ABF's) are offered and encouraged for parents to attend during the same hour their child is in education. Parents are encouraged to have children worship with them as a family.
  • A variety of curriculum is used to give an overview of Scripture, its major themes, and to help the student apply it to his/her life. Memorizing verses is an important part of Sunday School. Please help your child practice them at home.
  • Class sizes are kept to a minimum so that mentoring relationships can develop between students and teachers.
  • The Sunday School schedule changes in the summer. Look for further information in the Trumpet.
  • Class sizes are limited. If you did not pre-register, your family may be asked to attend a different education hour.
  • Classes will have a pot-luck picnic twice each year for families and the teachers. Check the out slips for information on your student's dates and times.

  • Authorized adults who check-in a child using the computer stations will receive two name labels (one for your child, the second for the diaper bag) and a check-in slip, which must be handed to the attendant with your child.
