Youth Ministries

2009-2010 Permission Slip

Check out what's up...

Summer and I have a love hate relationship.

You see, where I come from down south, summer means incredible heat and humidity. Perhaps that's your thing, but it's certainly not mine. However, I've found that after three years in Minnesota, summer is a welcome reprieve from the seemingly endless winter.

One of the ways that God reminds me of His unchanging nature is through the seasons. Each season brings a new perspective on God's faithfulness. Sometimes it's a struggle to see God in our circumstances, particularly through difficult seasons. Though He is invisible, if we look closely enough we'll find Him. The song "Invisible God" (by Andrew Peterson) illustrates this point well: "And oh, I long to see your face, invisible, invisible God. All the works that you have made are clearly seen and plain as day. So mighty and tender, O Lord, let me remember, that I can see you everywhere, invisible God...In the long, cold death that the winter brings, and the sweet resurrection of spring."

Blessings to you all through your summer!

Andy

F.U.E.L

Trinity's youth ministry is called "F.U.E.L.", which stands for "Faithfully Unashamed Examples in Life." We believe that all youth watch adults' examples, lead by example and are examples to people in their lives. Our goal at Trinity is for the youth to come to a place in their life that they would be unashamed to live their lives in such a manner that is faithful to God and live it out in a way that their example leads others to Christ.

Theme Verse:

Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping Him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring and consuming fire. Hebrews 12:28-29

Our Vision:

Shining the light of Jesus Christ so others may come to know, love and follow Him.

Weekly Activities

FUEL Ignite - Wednesday - 6:30-7:45 pm

Grades 7-8 gather weekly as a large group to connect with each other and to worship. This is a time when kids of all faith levels can come together in a non-threatening way to learn and be challenged in their spiritual walk. There is also small group time incorporated into the night so they have time to connect, and prepares them for Life Groups when they reach High School.

FUEL Consumed - Wednesday - 8-9 pm

Grades 9-12 meet weekly to catch up with each other and to worship. This evening is designed as a way to challenge high schoolers in their walk with Christ. Topics are relatable to their lives as they are living them today, and the worship is meant as a time to draw them into the presence of God.

Sunday School

Sunday School at Trinity is the place where students dig deep into the Bible. The classes are split between age groups. Each class is a combination of teaching time and small group discussion.

Classes Offered:
9:00 am
  • 7-8th grade combined
  • 9-12th grade combined
  • 12th grade
10:30 am
  • 7-8th grade combined
  • 9-12th grade combined
Life Groups

Every Sunday evening at 6:30 pm, Sr. Highers come together at church to talk about life. In this setting teenagers have the chance to bring their own thoughts and concerns to a small group of peers and an adult leader. It is here that youth can really connect with one another and build strong relationships that impact their lives.

Friday FUEL

Every 3rd Friday, 7:00-11:00 pm (grade 7-12)
This is a time that students can bring their friends and enjoy the youth space. It's totally FREE, which is always nice on their wallets...and their parents'.

Trips

The youth really look forward to the trips offered throughout the year. There are retreats in the fall, winter and spring. In addition to the retreats, the youth have the opportunity to go on mission trips (either a weekend trip, or a week long trip).

Events

Trinity's Student Ministry Team plans fun events for the youth all year, including the annual summer events. We also have put a focus on getting out into the community, so keep an eye out for opportunities like Feed My Starving Children, Cub Foods Bagging and serving breakfast at a local Applebees.
