Beautiful Wart Fish?
"He has made everything beautiful in its time." Ecclesiastes 3:11I think we've checked out, read through, and re-read every fish book in the library. Ever since my oldest son discovered lakes held more than pebbles and waves, he's been a pertinacious piscatorian (Forgive me, but he really gets into it.).
Most of the fish are beautiful. Just like butterflies and flowers, only different. Walleyes, northern, perch and muskies. These are just a few of the aquarian attractions for anyone who'll take the time to observe. They're all beautiful. Well, almost all...
"Look at this one dad! Isn't it ugly! It's called a wart fish." "Oh, that is ugly, son. I've never seen a fish with such a bad complexion." If ever the word "ugly" fit anything, this was it!
But wait. Maybe God sees beauty in it. Or maybe it's just not the wart fish's time. Maybe we prejudge a lot of things, even people, by our own narrow perspectives, and in our own biased moments. Do we believe this Scripture or not? "Everything..beautiful..in it's time."
