My Wife Hung Up On Me

My wife hung up on me. She could tell that I was reading something while she was talking to me. I tried to do both, but she wouldn't stand for it. I don't think that I'm alone in this and in this age of multi-tasking, the sooner we find out that some things are mutually exclusive, the better off we will be. By "mutually exclusive" I mean that we cannot have it both ways. This is what is meant by the common expression, "You cannot have your cake and eat it too." Or, as one preacher in a sermon on adultery said, "You cannot have your Kate, and Edith too." This would be a mutually exclusive pair - dah.
Another mutually exclusive pair would be the kingdom of God and the kingdom of this world. The two are incompatible. One is God-centered; the other is self-centered. One is light; the other is darkness. Jesus said, "You cannot serve God and money." It is simply not possible because the two are opposed in their very nature. They will end up coming into conflict with each other and you will have to choose. You cannot have both. You must know that this is another time when multi-tasking will not work. Please! Listen to this - before God hangs up on you.
