The Lord is My Light

"The Lord is my light and my salvation -
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life -
of whom shall I be afraid?"
Psalm 27:1

Scientists have discovered that light is not as light as we thought. This is because there is more to light than mere waves. A wave, after all, is practically nothing. Since light is affected by gravity, however, there must be some substance to these light waves. After all, gravity does not pull "nothing," but always draws something of substance. The substance of light comes in the form of particles so slight that they are light enough to go unnoticed by you and me, but not by gravity. Light is not as light as we think.

God is not so light as some people think, either. Because He allows sin latitude to operate in, we may sometimes think Him on the light side. Why does He not do something? Is He a "push-over"? Is He a "spiritual wave" with no real substance? Not at all! He is no weakling; He is no lightweight. You will not find Him in the "lite" section of your supermarket. He is weighty and robust. With Him is salvation; He is the stronghold of your life. His light will protect you against the darkest night. Because of Him you do not need to fear. He is light! But He is not as light as you think!
